How do I know if the College has received my application form?
You will be sent an acknowledgement from the College within 5 working days of our receipt of your completed application form.
When can I expect to hear if I have been allocated a place?
Once the 28th September deadline has passed we shall write to tell you if your application has been successful. You can expect to hear by Friday 12th October 2012.
Why are students studying at specific schools allocated places?
Applicants from those schools named choose to enrol at the College in significant numbers and may not be allocated a place on the basis of geographical proximity alone. Once the September deadline has passed any new applications will be processed alongside all other non Federation school applications received.
What happens if the College still has places available after 28th September 2012?
If places remain once the initial allocation has been made a second phase for accepting applications will open. ALL application forms received BY POST before 5pm on the second deadline date will be considered on the basis of geographical proximity. The allocation of places under this second phase will be announced within an advertised period.
When might a reserve list be introduced and if this happens, what are the chances of being allocated a place?
If the number of applicants exceeds the number of places available under the advertised phase(s) for accepting applications, a reserve list will be introduced on the basis of geographical proximity. If your application is received AFTER the reserve list has opened, the allocation of a place will be on a first come, first served basis.
The College website will carry the latest information and if places become available to allocate you will receive a letter advising you that you have the opportunity to continue with your application. The reserve list is likely to remain active during the year prior to entry so there is a reasonable chance that you will be invited to come along to a one-to-one discussion with a curriculum adviser before receiving a formal offer for the courses you have chosen.
Are there any special considerations for individual applicants?
Yes, occasionally other factors may influence whether, or not, we can allocate you a place. Please refer to the Admissions Policy for more details about this.
