Food Technology
In the AS year you will develop an understanding of nutrients and foods and their use in a balanced diet and in the cooking of food as well as the importance of food safety. You will learn to cook and apply this to diet and health as well as developing an understanding of the broader issues to do with food choice and design e.g. sustainability, dietary factors. In your coursework you will also design your own food products for individual nutritional requirements.
In the second year you will do more work in nutrition, food science and food development.
