Community Sports Leadership
Have you an interest in sport and a desire to develop your communication skills and leadership ability? Then this is the course for you! The course is split into seven units that you will study in college such as Organisation of Events and Competitions, Fitness for Sport, Safety in Sport etc. After successfully completing these units, you will undertake 10 hours of voluntary leadership, for example helping out with the junior section of your club or previous primary school. The emphasis is on your practical leadership ability so most sessions will be practical with very little written work.

ENTRY RECOMMENDATIONS:
Open to all non PE students. All upper 6th PE or BTEC National Diploma Sport students will do this course as part of their PE A level or BTEC.ASSESSMENT:
Continual assessment through observation of practical leadership tasks. There are no written exams. Awarded by Sports Leaders UK.PROGRESSION:
The ACSL is seen as an important introduction for sports leadership. Many companies ask for this award for running play scheme activities, coaching youngsters on summer schools etc. It also provides a natural step towards national governing body coaching awards.View Subject Leaflet »
