"Godalming College has been a great experience for me. I chose the 2 year BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport, Development and Fitness as I knew that it would support my sporting ability and knowledge as well as to further my understanding for a future career in sport. The course has given me motivation to inspire the younger generation to participate in sport and physical activities and to become healthier and fitter. The course contains many units including anatomy and physiology which has been my favourite unit throughout the 2 years due to focusing on the human body and looking at the effects sport has on an athlete and the way their body functions. I enjoyed learning about the body and this has inspired me to choose a Chiropractor degree, which is a dream that I can now make happen.

For someone who has a great interest in playing sport as well as learning about sport the BTEC Extended Diploma was the right choice. I have enjoyed every moment of it. All of the teachers have been very supportive through my 2 years and have helped me to reach my target grades so that I can be accepted into the university course I want. The Sport course has offered me a lot of great opportunities such as the level 2 and level 3 Sport Leadership Award as well as level 1 Rugby officiating. These extra
qualifications will help me in the future if I decide to go into sport coaching or officiating. The sport teams at Godalming College have also been a huge part of the experience and have enhanced my personal netball performance. Our College Netball team have been undefeated in the Surrey Sixth Form College’s league for 14 years which is a
massive success rate for Godalming College. We also competed in the South East Regional Competition this year and came 3rd, which really demonstrated how hard we have worked and how much we put into our regular training sessions. I am happy to
leave the College team knowing that the excellent coaching will continue and that this will help future teams to hold our Championship status.

I will be going to the University of South Wales in September taking a Chiropractor degree with the hope of becoming a Chiropractor for a professional sports team. I am excited to start a career in sport and to help athletes to perform to their maximum
and prevent them from getting injured."
