Nina Savedra, who joined us from Broadwater School this year, is a volunteer with a Godalming Brownie group. Every two years a member of Girlguiding is selected to become the Lord Lieutenant of Surrey’s Cadet. She faced a tough selection process where she had to give a presentation about concerns facing young people today. Nina eagerly and clearly discussed her volunteer work at school as an advocate for Philosophy for Children (P4C). She then had interview with questions centred around her ability to interact with new people and deal with new situations.
The role of Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet is very prestigious. Over the next year she will be attending events with the Lord Lieutenant, which will include royal visits to the county. She will act to support him and interact with guests at a whole variety of occasions. The picture is of Nina after she was presented with her sash at a ceremony at Loseley Park House this week. She is a credit to Girlguiding and the College and we wish her the very best for her year in this role.
