Festival of visual arts
Audiences were treated to a spectacle of performance and creative diversity during the opening presentations at Godalming College’s annual arts festival.
For three hours the Tuesley Lane campus showcased the talents of sixth form students studying a range of level 3 courses. Alongside final year exhibitions of art, textiles, photography and design, the festival saw the launch of Generation Free-fall - an explosive concoction of contemporary devised physical theatre and newly choreographed live dance performances.
A show-reel of film shorts produced by media and IT students attracted an attentive audience with visitors also invited to create their own animation sequence. College singers and musicians provided musical entertainment throughout the evening.
Will Baldwin, director of faculty at the college, says, “This year’s festival is again a celebration of the outstanding standards consistently achieved by our students, many of whom go on to pursue degrees and careers within the creative industries. We hope that all our visitors have been bowled over by the work on show.”
Godalming College drama students also took to the stage at this year's Guilfest with their original theatre production of Dirty Wonderland.
