Leading the way in eLearning
Staff at Godalming College, are leading the way, when it comes to using the latest classroom technology to support teaching and learning, following the announcement of this year’s Hi5 awards for eLearning.
History tutor Ruth Nixon and Psychology tutor Adam Lyons attended a special ceremony at London’s Westminster Kingsway College last week, where they received an award for their use of audio assessment when giving feedback on students’ work. In a second category for online assessment and target setting, French tutor Frédérique Lecerf also celebrated success.
Dave Cartwright, Assistant Principal for teaching and learning, at Godalming College, says, “We believe that it’s very important to maximise the opportunities offered by technology in providing a high quality educational experience to all our students. Staff here, are genuinely keen to embrace new teaching styles, in order to make their lessons stimulating and to provide students with access to learning, whether on the campus, or at home.”
This is the second time that Godalming College has achieved success at the Hi5 eLearning Awards. In 2009 the sixth form college also scooped an award for advances in online assessment.
