Champions in British Colleges National Netball Competition 2012

The Godalming College netball team are enjoying their recent victory over Yale College, Wales to claim the BCS (British Colleges Sport) Netball Plate at Loughborough University’s Netball Centre on Wednesday 2nd May. Team members Katy Lynch, Grace Sands, Laura Parker, Lara Davison, Louise Rose, Fran Edwards, Kathryn Sharp, Emma Ketteringham and Amy Fifield have worked hard to beat off strong competition, beating Havering College in the quarter finals and Coleg Gwent in the semis followed by a convincing win of 53 – 27 in the final. Godalming College Netball team have had a strong season, already winning the Surrey Sixth Form League and runners up in the South East Colleges tournament. The girls in the squad paid tribute to their coach and all agreed that netball has been a fantastic part of their college experience. It was an emotional day as the final was their last game of the season and for most their last game representing the College.Godalming’s Coach Rachael Reeves was delighted with her squads performance and fantastic achievement, she adds ‘I am just very very proud of the girls and the way they played. They have been a fantastic team to coach and thoroughly deserve to be British College CHAMPIONS 2012David Adelman, Principal, added ‘this is an incredible achievement by our netball team and we are obviously very proud of our Champions.
