Financial Help

There are several types of support available for students needing financial assistance to complete their course.

Learner Support Fund
The Learner Support Fund provides assistance with the direct costs of study such as transport, fees, books, equipment, exams and child care. it is available to students who may have difficulties in completing their courses because of financial considerations and for unforeseen emergencies. Speak to our Student Support Services to check if you qualify.
 
Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
Available to students who are 16,17 or 18 and enrolled on a full-time course at college. EMA is a weekly payment of £10, £20 or £30, paid during term-time, depending on your household income. This money is intended to help with the day-to-day costs  such as travel, books and equipment for your course. There are also £100 bonuses if you are a committed student and make good progress.

Care to Learn childcare for young learners

Adult Learning Grant
The Adult Learning Grant (ALG) helps adults studying full-time at a further education learning provider with the costs of learning. The grant pays up to £30 per week (subject to financial assessment) for learners aged 19 or over on a course leading to your first full level 2 or for a first full level 3 qualification.
