Congratulations to Godalming College students who have received A Level and BTEC results today. The vast majority have secured their 1st place university and are looking forward to their future despite the turmoil of COVID-19 which disrupted their last few months of their College experience.

We are particularly pleased to report that 4 students Anna Wilderspin, Sam Davis, Matthew Casey and Eve Lunn have successfully been accepted into Oxford and 7 students Lola Wright, Abigail Barrass, Dylan Stewart, Daphne Pleming, Emily Tepley, Amelia Blackwell and Pip Pearce have been successfully been accepted to Cambridge.

We are also proud to report that 7 students Maia Shouksmith, Catherine Lockwood, Catrin Palmer, Charlotte Cranfield, Amberley Evans, Amelia Morris and Ella Collinson have been accepted to study Medicine and 4 students, Sam Tuckley Byrne, Hannah Tedd, Madeline Ball and Abigail Barrass have been accepted to study Veterinary Medicine.

Other prestigious university destinations include James Casemore to Yale, USA and Joshua Turnbull to the Vancouver Film School, Canada.

Principal Emma Young  says “On this most unique results days, in line with previous years, there are lots of Godalming College students rightly celebrating their fantastic results and we are delighted for them. However, in common with the national picture, there are some cases where the national standardisation process has not produced expected outcomes.  We will do all we can to help and support those students.

Ultimately, we hope that students will look back on their time at College with fondness, and that they have formed friendships and memories that will last forever.  We know that the skills, experiences and all round education experience at College will have stood all of our students in the best possible position for their future.  We are very proud of the resilience and way in which our students have dealt with these highly unusual circumstances.  I would also like to pay tribute to our wonderful teachers and support staff who have coped admirably and done their best to support our students during this difficult time for everyone.  Our students should feel proud of what they have achieved over the past couple of years.  We wish them the very best with the next stage of their future, whether that be University, an Apprenticeship or Employment.”

Students who need advice and support are urged to email to arrange an appointment with an adviser.
