The course will focus on all the roles associated with live events, and the business/employment relationships between those roles that are necessary for the live events industry to function and profit on both large and small scales; this will include an introduction to the touring industry, tying in current examples of modern touring artists and how their plans are forced to adapt to an ever-changing industry that doesn’t reflect the touring industry of decades ago. Including record label and management insights will be a key part of students understanding exactly why artists go on tour and the potential financial and career success/failures that can occur, leading to a deep-dive into the progression opportunities that are available to them beyond their time at the college.
