Lewis Tidy (Performing Arts BTEC)

Case Study

Taking this subject was most certainly the best choice I made with my study at Godalming College. It was relentless yet rewarding in many factors and allowed me to collaborate with many peers and practitioners within my time on the course. As I personally was very enthused by the practical nature within the subject, the structure of written work allowed me to constantly investigate into my ability, establishing a variety of elements I can improve upon. From the very first performance I was baffled with the amount I could incorporate as a performing arts student and not only was I able to learn many theatrical techniques, I was fortunate enough to have teachers who were constantly allowing me to experiment and find new ways to express. During my process throughout this course and working with Class Action I developed a cherished understanding for the poignancy of word and the power of gesture. This led me to participate in extra-curricular performances such as Chicago and enrichment's including monologue workshops and drama school auditions. After the process of attending the course and extra activities I was fortunate enough to get accepted into ALRA drama school in London. I will forever be grateful for the opportunities provided from this course and will work with continuous amounts enjoyment in my future as a performer!
