Elizabeth Cummins (Design: 3D A Level)

Case Study

I chose this subject because growing up I was always surrounded by designers and artists in my family, so I’ve always wanted to pursue a career in Design. At GCSE’s I took both Art and Design Technology and enjoyed them both a lot, so I was enthusiastic to carry on my studies in this area at A Levels. 3D Design at Godalming College has been one of my most enjoyable subjects, as I feel free to create a high standard of work that I feel very passionate about.

The 3D Design teachers have been great throughout my 2 years, they really encourage and push you to create your best work. Meaning I always felt great satisfaction with my work, and I knew they had helped and guided me along the way to achieve my best creations. My favourite part has been being able to learn new techniques which I wouldn’t have done at GCSE level and developing pre-existing skills to a high standard, which I can take forward into higher education. I intend to go to Loughborough University to study Design BA, which I’m very excited about, as their design school ranked as one of the best in the UK! I’ve really valued my experience at Godalming College, and it has led me in the pathway of having a successful future which is the best feeling to have when finishing Sixth Form.
