Your application - what happens next?

Once you have submitted your application we will send you a confirmation email. You can access your application again using your account login details that you set up when you first registered. If you need to make changes to your application once submitted, or have any questions, please contact us via admissions@godalming.ac.uk or the messaging facility on your application account. Please do not submit more than one application.

Your Course Advice Session

You will be invited via email to book an online Course Advice Session (CAS) to have a one-to-one discussion with a Course Adviser. All the Course Advice Sessions are held virtually via Microsoft Teams and take place between November and March, after school hours for your convenience.

The key purpose of the session is to talk to you about the subjects you are interested in and your ambitions or future plans.

We will review your GCSE courses and discuss what your grades are likely to be
Discuss your choice of subjects
Discuss any careers or progression ideas
Answer any questions you have about College
Confirm your provisional study programme

We will be unable to process your application further unless you have successfully completed a Course Advice Session and received an offer of a place for September.

Accept your place by 1st April 2025

After successfully completing your Course Advice Session you will be sent an offer of a place at College (subject to meeting entry requirements). Please follow the instructions to accept your place online, via your applicant account, as soon as possible. Only applicants that have accepted their offer by the deadline will be sent invitations to Going to Godalming Days and Enrolment.

The deadline to accept your offer is midday on Tuesday 1st April 2025.

Going to Godalming Days - 10th & 11th July 2025

You will be invited to spend a day at College to take taster lessons in each of the three subjects you have chosen, plus your back up choice. We call this your Going to Godalming Day and it takes place just after your GCSE exams have finished. As well as experiencing your course choices you will also have some free time to take a look at our unique +Enrichment programme and experience what College life is like.

Parents will also be invited to a Going to Godalming Parents Evening. This will also be available as a live event online.

Going to Godalmings Days in 2025 will take place on 10th and 11th July.

Enrolment - late August 2025

You must attend your enrolment appointment in person to confirm your course choices. You will be sent an appointment date and time in the Summer term, after your Going to Godalming day. Enrolment takes place the week after you receive your GCSE results and, prior to coming in, we will ask you to upload your results to our system. This year GCSE results day is Thursday 21st August.

At enrolment we will double check your results and you will have another one-to-one discussion with a Course Adviser about your course selection. You will also visit the departments you will be joining, to have a discussion with one of the teachers there and to collect some work to complete prior to the first day of teaching. This work is designed to help you understand the course a little more. Once you have successfully completed enrolment you will officially become a student at Godalming College!

Enrolment for September 2025 will take place during w/c 26th August.

September Induction

In the week after your enrolment you will also be invited to take part in an induction and orientation session that you will be expected to attend. These are planned to help you with your transition to College life. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and we will ensure that you have everything you need to make your best possible start at Godalming.

Timetable

Most of our students study three core courses with additional +Enrichment courses. A typical timetable of study will look similar to the one below. All students have private study periods, when they are not in lessons to complete homework and consolidate their learning.

Learning Support

If you will need any extra support of any kind whilst you are at College, it is vital that you let us know so that we can support you in the best way possible.

Bursary Fund

The Bursary Fund is available to assist students who may have difficulties in completing their course because of financial considerations and to assist students with unforeseen emergencies.
