We will cover topics ranging from the history and context of astronomy, practical observation of the night sky, planets and other solar system objects, the life cycle and classification of stars, the search for life and exoplanets, exotic objects like neutron stars, black holes, and quasars, and the timeline of the universe as a whole. No prior knowledge is needed, only a sense of curiosity and willingness to ask questions. Some sessions will use GCSE-level maths to learn how astrophysicists engage with these subjects. You will have a chance to do engage in fun practical activities, examine real astrophysics data, and discover some of the strangest facts about our universe.
