I chose Economics A level as I would often hear about economic issues being discussed in the news, such as the topics of inflation, interest rates and government policy decisions which I did not really understand at all. Since these topics are so important in everyday life, this made me want to learn more about how it all works to gain a better understanding of the world around me. The part of Economics I have enjoyed the most is learning how to use and interpret diagrams that represent real-world concepts, which is quite different from all my other subjects. Finally, the teachers in Economics are very kind and supportive, making it easy to ask for help on any topics that may be challenging.
My favourite part of college is being able to spend time with my friends in my frees, including going into Godalming town and sitting on the field in the summer. College has also allowed me to meet new people and learn about their future goals which has inspired me and opened me up to new opportunities I hadn’t considered before.
I would definitely recommend Godalming to someone considering applying because of the wide range of opportunities it provides, including advice on future pathways and career ideas, as well as the many enjoyable events throughout the year, such as Culture Day. It also has a more mature environment than school, allowing for greater freedom to study in a way that suits you.
