Choosing A-Level Maths was a clear decision for me, as I specifically want to enter the finance industry, where my strengths in mathematics will be put to the test. I loved it at GCSE, and it has remained one of my favourite subjects. Solving complex problems motivates me to work hard and use my critical thinking skills to achieve the desired answer. It is a genuinely enjoyable subject, especially when working with others, and the teachers provide us with many opportunities to consolidate our learning, whether through exam questions, workshops, or even one-to-one sessions; they are always there to support us.
During my time at Godalming College, I have enjoyed making new friends the most. It has really pushed me outside of my comfort zone to connect with people who I usually wouldn't speak to very often and make attempts to strengthen relations. This has helped me become a much more approachable person and someone who loves to have a conversation.
Additionally, during the course, I took part in the Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition which was an extreme challenge that I took upon myself because I wanted to create unforgettable experiences. Whether it was singing with friends, or fighting our way up a steep mountain, it really gave me fun memories to look back on. It taught me a real lesson about resilience as even though there were times where I definitely wanted to give up. I'm really glad I didn't.
